Time is running out for Windows 10
On October 14, 2025, Windows 10 will reach its end of life, marking the end of security updates and technical support for the operating system. As such, it will be essential for users to migrate to a newer version of Windows (Windows 11) for the continued security and functionality of their devices.
Why should I care about this?
The operating system will no longer receive critical security updates or patches, leaving devices that continue to use Windows 10 vulnerable to cyber attacks and other security threats.
From October 15th 2025, Windows 10 will become a target for hackers and organised crime, confident that there will be many vulnerable copies of Windows 10 still in use. Malware targeted at operating system flaws are part of a worldwide multi-billion dollar criminal industry – worse still, Anti-Virus and Anti-Malware software CANNOT protect effectively against malware that targets out of date operating systems. Using an out of date, unsupported operating system could mean that your business is in breach of professional certification or accreditation in addition to UK GDPR regulations .
Upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11 is generally straightforward BUT only standard PCs and laptops that are running the most current version of Windows 10 AND meet the minimum hardware specifications will be able to upgrade.
You need to plan for your migration as early as possible, as new equipment will become increasingly scarce as the end of life date approaches and inevitably the costs of replacement will increase.
